Practical Advice. Real-World Experience. Zero Guru Nonsense.

I’m Bill Marks, and I created Bill Marks Online for people who want to build something online without sifting through a mountain of hype, exaggerated promises, and complicated marketing jargon.
If you’re new to affiliate marketing or online business, my goal is simple: help you understand what matters, what probably doesn’t, and where to spend your time and money.
I Didn’t Learn Business From a Seminar
My working life has taken a few turns.
I spent six years in the United States Air Force working in aircraft maintenance and as a flight engineer. After that, I worked in law enforcement, including as a deputy, jailer, detective, lieutenant, and in undercover narcotics.
I’ve also owned a convenience store, managed salespeople, handled business accounting, operated a digital marketing company, and spent more than twenty years in trucking as both a professional driver and owner-operator.
That background may look like a strange collection of careers.
But nearly every one of them taught me the same thing:
Real life has a way of separating what sounds good from what actually works.
You learn to solve problems, deal with people, make decisions with incomplete information, manage risk, and take responsibility when something goes sideways.
Those lessons carry over surprisingly well to business and marketing.
Why Bill Marks Online Exists

Over the years, I became increasingly interested in digital marketing and affiliate marketing.
I also noticed something I didn’t particularly like.
Beginners were being sold big promises by people who seemed to disappear as soon as the payment cleared.
Too many people were told the next piece of software, funnel, course, traffic trick, or so-called done-for-you system would solve everything.
Usually, it doesn’t work that way.
Tools can help. Good training can help. A proven system can help.
But none of them remove the need to understand what you are doing, why you are doing it, and what should happen next.
That is why I created Bill Marks Online.
Who I’m Here to Help
This site is primarily for beginners and everyday people trying to make better decisions about affiliate marketing and online business.
You don’t need to know all the terminology.
You don’t need a huge audience.
And you certainly don’t need another person telling you getting started should be effortless.
What you do need is clear information, realistic expectations, a workable plan, and enough patience to give that plan a fair chance.
That is what I try to provide here.
What You Can Expect From Me
When I review a product, training program, tool, or business opportunity, I want you to understand both the good and the bad.
If something has a weakness, I’ll point it out.
If I think a beginner is likely to struggle with part of it, I’ll say so.
If there is something I cannot independently verify, I’ll tell you that too.
You can expect:
- Honest reviews of affiliate programs, tools, and online-business opportunities
- Practical explanations written for beginners
- Lessons drawn from business, sales, management, marketing, and real life
- Straight answers about exaggerated promises and questionable claims
- Guidance aimed at building something sustainable instead of chasing the next shiny object
I am not interested in adding more noise to an already noisy industry.
I would rather help you understand one useful idea than overwhelm you with twenty things you do not need yet.
A Little More About Me
I’m also an independent affiliate for CB Profit Club. If I recommend it and if you choose to purchase through one of my links, I may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
When I’m not working on Bill Marks Online or handling business responsibilities, I enjoy riding my trusty steed and working in my vegetable garden.
I’ve also been fortunate enough to travel extensively over the years. I have visited all 50 states and two U.S. territories and have seen a fair amount of the world along the way.
After all that traveling, I still think the United States has some of the most beautiful country anywhere. If I had to pick one place that keeps pulling me back, it would probably be the Appalachian Trail.
And yes, spaghetti still ranks pretty high on the list of life’s reliable pleasures.
One Last Thing
I don’t expect you to agree with everything I write.
I hope you leave this site better informed than when you arrived.
If an article helps you avoid a bad decision, understand a confusing concept, recognize an exaggerated claim, or find something that genuinely helps you move forward, then Bill Marks Online is doing what I built it to do.
Take a look around, read a few articles, and decide for yourself.
And if you have a question or simply want to say hello, you’re always welcome to use the Contact page.
